I have always found the local Government ready and
willing to foster British interests and Mr. Vaughan Fowler
informs me that the Officer Administering the Government, the
Hon. Mr. W. T. Southorn, C.M.G., is in full sympathy with the
attempt to introduce British aircraft into China, but he unfortunately is unable to do anything really definite in the
matter.
I have no doubt this subject will receive the
serious consideration it deserves so that suitable action may be promptly taken rather than wait till the situation
becomes acute. In this connection it might be useful to try
to enlist the assistance of the Society of British Aircraft
Constructors.
Yours faithfully,
(sd.) G. W. Sewell.
